Building a Division I Future - Project showcase

The Challenge

Abigail Neal, a standout point guard in the Class of 2029 at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona, needed more than highlight reels on social media to get noticed by Division I college programs. The recruiting landscape is intensely competitive, and coaches evaluating hundreds of prospects need a quick, professional way to assess an athlete's abilities, character, and potential fit. Without a dedicated digital presence, Abigail's story, skills, and achievements were scattered across platforms with no central hub for college coaches to evaluate her as both an athlete and a person.

The Solution

We built a polished personal athlete recruiting portfolio designed to make an immediate impression on Division I coaches. The site features a striking dark navy and gold design system using Space Grotesk and DM Sans typography, with smooth scroll-triggered animations that guide visitors through Abigail's story. The platform includes a hero section with a direct highlights CTA, a detailed about section, a skills showcase highlighting six core competencies, a 16-image gallery capturing her in action, and an off-court character section that shows who she is beyond basketball. Built with Nuxt 3, Vue 3, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and PrimeVue on the frontend, with a NestJS backend, Supabase for data, and AWS S3 and CloudFront for delivery, all managed through Terraform and organized in a Turborepo monorepo.

Results & Impact

Abigail Neal now has a professional recruiting tool that sets her apart in the Division I recruiting process. College coaches can visit a single destination to watch highlights, evaluate her core competencies, browse action photography, and understand her character and work ethic off the court. The site gives her family a powerful asset they control, independent of any recruiting service or social media algorithm. As Abigail progresses through high school, the platform is built to grow with her, ready for updated stats, new highlights, and evolving achievements through her journey to the next level.
